Civic Holiday

...or British Columbia Day, Heritage Day, Natal Day, New Brunswick Day, Saskatchewan Day, Terry Fox Day all fall on the first weekend of August.

If you observe this long weekend, you are likely having some good summer fun and maybe celebrating in a way that reflects historical or provincial pride. While "Civic Holiday" is a pretty broad statement, the idea is to enjoy and honor your local environment. Other provinces have taken the liberty of naming the holiday after themselves or something that reflects their history.

This is a good reminder that it is special to recognize that each province has their own individual history and culture. Revel in your local attractions and be thankful to live where you do while taking advantage of the summer heat.
