Valentine's Day

The official day of celebrating your deepest feelings of love and romance.  Valentine's Day gives  us the perfect opportunity to wear our heart on our sleeve and let the world know who we hold dearest in our hearts.

This holiday is one of the longest standing traditions we still celebrate today. There were actually many noted Saints named Valentine, but it has been told that one in particular went against the rule by secretly preforming marriage ceremonies for soldiers who were forbidden to marry.  Saint Valentine was also known as a healer, but was ultimately killed for spreading the news of the gospel on February 14, 269 and the Feast of Saint Valentine was acknowledged by the Pope, just over 200 years later, on the same day as a marker to honor martyred saints. Over time it became recognized as the traditional day of love, romance and following your heart.  It wasn't until the 19th century that Cupid, the god of desire, erotic love, attraction & affection, became popularly associated with Valentine's Day.

While more recognized as a day for couples and romantic lovers, Valentine’s Day has evolved into a day to show all the different and beautiful ways we love others. Use this day to spread love everywhere you go while cherishing your partner, family, friends and yourself!
